Engofy is a service for learning English by reading short texts. This page explains what personal data we collect, why, and the choices you have. Questions: support@engofy.com.

What we collect

• Account: your email address and, if you sign in with Google, your Google account identifier. We do not receive your Google password.
• Learning settings: your English level, native language and daily goal.
• Learning activity: the words and phrases you save, your review history, the texts you have read and your streak.
• Technical data: your IP address and request details, which our servers and security provider process to deliver the site, limit abuse and diagnose errors.

You can read texts and browse the grammar reference without an account. Words you save as a guest stay in your browser only.

Why we use it

To sign you in, show your saved words and progress, schedule reviews, send sign-in codes, keep the service secure and fix errors. We do not sell your data and do not use it for advertising.

Cookies and browser storage

• Session cookie (strictly necessary): keeps you signed in for up to 30 days or until you sign out.
• Local storage: remembers your theme, text size, reader preferences and, for guests, saved words. It stays on your device.

We do not use advertising or analytics cookies.

Who processes data for us

• DigitalOcean — hosting and database.
• Cloudflare — content delivery and security.
• Resend — delivery of sign-in emails.
• Google — sign-in with Google, only if you choose it.
• Sentry — error reports, used to find and fix bugs.

The texts we publish are prepared with the help of an AI service. Your personal data is not part of that processing.

Retention and deletion

We keep your data while your account exists. You can delete your account from your profile. Deletion takes effect after a 30-day grace period, during which you can cancel it; after that your account and learning data are removed.

Your rights

You can ask us to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict its processing. Write to support@engofy.com and we will reply.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will update the date above. Material changes will be announced on the site.
